Last Chance Poker Run, September 5-7, 2008

 Sue and Frank Kinzie, owners of Beverly Port Marina since 1996, announce the 5th Annual Last Chance Poker Run, September 5-7, 2008. 

 Founded in 1626, Beverly, Massachusetts is one of the oldest communities in the country and has one of the oldest houses in the country.  Its spectacular "Gold Coast" is rimmed with ocean-front mansions visible from the water.  Host, Beverly Port Marina is the site from which the first ship in the U.S. Navy, the Hannnah, sailed in 1775 during the Revolutionary War, thus it lays claim to being the "Birthplace of the American Navy."  Beverly, Massachusetts, was home to many privateers during the Revolution and was also the summer home of President Taft.

11:00 a.m.       Captain's Meeting

12 noon.          Poker Run departs. Approx. 130 miles.  4 Card Stops including Plymouth to visit Mayflower and Pilgrim site.  Specific course TBD, depending on weather and scheduling.

5 p.m. - 9 p.m. Marina Party at Beverly Port Marina. Top poker prize will depend on the number of participants, but last year the first prize was $1,500.

10:00 a.m.        Fun Run to Provincetown (45 miles across MA Bay) via the Stelwagen Bank for whale-watching.  In P-town, shop, sight-see, ride bikes, visit beaches, etc.

1:00 p.m.         Lunch in P-town (location TBD)

Registration:  $290 includes the Poker Run and party, for boat and driver.  $28 for each additional person for the party.  Proceeds benefit the Red Cross  The Friday and Sunday events are not included.

Beverly Port Marina (BPM) is open from 9-5, seven days a week from April to December and 9-5 every day except Sunday during the winter.  Pre-owned sales and new-boat dealers for Donzi, Pro-line, Quintrex, Lund.   Beverly Port Marina offers inside or outside year-round wet or dry storage for boats up to 100 feet, and two 35-ton travel lifts and two marine fork lifts.

 Our docks have 30- and 50-amp electric, water, telephone, cable TV and keyed-access security. Full-service fuel dock, parts and service department, boat sales showroom, marine store, modern and clean bath and laundry facilities, cook-out areas, ice machines and free parking. BPM has a fully-enclosed rack storage system for boats up to 42 feet in length. BPM has a large stock of  marine service and parts departments in the area, with factory-trained technicians expert in the repair of gas and diesel engines as well as outboard and inboard/outboard motors. BPM also handles structural work, rigging, winterizing, fiberglass repair and detailing.
